So for years--years--I have been planning to fix my kitchen. It's really in an appalling state. I've always planned on doing the work myself, and it's just plain not getting done. The alternative is to pay to have someone do it for me. The difference would probably be on the order of: less than $5000, versus probably more like $15,000. Yes, I should do it myself and save $10,000. But it's been 12 years. Realistically, I'm never, ever going to do it.
What should I do? Help!

I think you should pay someone to fix up your kitchen. Right now you should have your pick of contractors and shold be able to negotiate a good deal. Be sure to check references and make sure they give you a realistic estimate of how long it will take and hold them to it.
ReplyDeleteAfter 12 years you have earned a good kitchen.
If you have SOME of it done by others...specifically the stuff you CAN'T easily do yourself, then it may inspire you to finish the stuff you CAN do...maybe?
